Emma (Jia) Wang
Piano
Emma Wang began her piano studies at the age of five with Jin De,Liu, a former graduate from Central Conservatory of Music, Beijing, China. Years later, she got into Central Conservatory of Music herself where she received a B.A. in Music in 2006 with a GPA of 3.92. During the 5-year program, she studied piano with prof. Ye, Lin and Pei Ying, Huang. While she was at Central Conservatory of Music, she got a part-time job offer from Beijing Jiang Jie Piano School, teaching private piano lessons; in the meantime, she also worked at Jianshenan Music School, mainly teaching piano, ear training and music theory.
After graduating, she received the offer from University of Washington and continued her study there. Her studies have always been focused on classical music, but she has performed works of all styles in collaboration with other musicians. Having been a piano teacher for 3 years now, she has worked with students of various levels and abilities and has developed a wide teaching repertoire.
Students she has taught range from the very beginner to the advanced. Typically, each piano student is directed toward performing classical music but she also assists in music theory and music history.
