Pre-requisite: No singing & choir experience needed.
Section 1: Ages 5 – 12 years old
Section 2: Ages 13 & up
The Preparatory Choir is for ANYONE, regardless of ability. It is designed to provide basic choral training and performance opportunities to beginning level students and with the additional goal of increasing students talents through training and performance. Materials to be sung will include seasonal music, classical music, popular music, show tunes, and more. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in quarterly Recitals at NCSM as well as many other performances outside NCSM.
Please note that No Refunds or Make-Ups will be given if a student misses a class.

Prerequisite:
Upper Intermediate & Advanced Level
Requirements: AUDITION REQUIRED. Auditions will include sight reading, pitch evaluation, tone memory, ability to harmonize, voice quality evaluation, solo singing.

The Performance Choir is more advanced. Student will learn more difficult music, will do some a capella singing, more complex music, some jazz singing, close harmony work. A higher level of professionalism is expected from this group. The goal for this group will be to create a more professional performance ensemble, a group that will be a showcase for the school. They will continue to learn and perfect their technique and talents, have a varied repertoire of songs to perform, concentrate on higher vocal performance standards with focus on things like vowel matching, proper diphthong use, tone matching, etc. This will be the elite performing group that young people serious about good singing will want to be involved with. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in quarterly Recitals at NCSM as well as many other performances outside NCSM.
